Tender and flavorful chicken legs cooked to perfection in a slow cooker with minimal effort. Ideal for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

  • 4-6 bone-in, skin-on chicken legs
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika (smoked or sweet)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

Instructions

  1. Prepare the seasoning blend: In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika until well combined.
  2. Rub the seasoning all over the chicken drumsticks, ensuring they’re evenly coated.
  3. Place the seasoned chicken legs in the slow cooker, making sure they fit comfortably without overcrowding.
  4. Drizzle the olive oil over the chicken legs and toss gently to ensure they are well-coated.
  5. Cover the slow cooker with the lid and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and tender.
  6. For a quicker method, place the chicken legs in the Instant Pot, add 1 cup of water, seal the lid, and cook on manual high pressure for 10 minutes. Allow for natural release for 5 minutes before quick releasing any remaining pressure.
  7. Serve the chicken legs warm with your choice of sides.

Notes

Check for doneness at 165°F and avoid overcrowding the slow cooker for even cooking. Let the chicken rest before serving to retain juices.
