These fluffy, kid-friendly pancakes infused with the tang of lemonade add a spooky twist to your breakfast, perfect for Halloween celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup lemonade
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • Food coloring (for colorful pancakes, optional)
  • Whipped cream (for serving, optional)
  • Chocolate syrup (for decoration, optional)
  • Fruit or candy for decoration (e.g., ghost-shaped marshmallows, bat-shaped chocolates, optional)

Instructions

  1. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until well mixed.
  2. Mix Wet Ingredients: In another bowl, whisk together the lemonade, egg, and melted butter until fully combined.
  3. Combine Mixtures: Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just mixed; it’s okay to have a few lumps.
  4. Add Color (Optional): If you’re using food coloring, divide the batter into bowls and mix in your desired colors to create a fun, festive look.
  5. Heat the Pan: Preheat a nonstick pan or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with some butter if necessary.
  6. Cook the Pancakes: Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then flip the pancake and cook until the other side is golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Serve and Decorate: Serve pancakes warm, topped with whipped cream, drizzled with chocolate syrup, and decorated with ghost or bat candies for that Halloween touch.

Notes

Don’t overmix the batter to keep pancakes fluffy. Experiment with colorful food dyes and enjoy versatile toppings.
