A delightful Halloween cookie cake that is soft, chewy, and packed with festive flavors.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chocolate chips or chunks
  • ½ cup Halloween-themed sprinkles (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a round cake pan (9-inch) with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. Beat the softened butter with both sugars until light and fluffy, about 3-5 minutes.
  4. Blend in the egg and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing just until incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips (and sprinkles if using) until evenly distributed.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Allow the cookie cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Ensure your butter is softened but not melted for the best texture. Start checking for doneness at the 20-minute mark.
