Ingredients
1.5 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
3 tablespoons shawarma spice mix
4 garlic cloves, minced
3 tablespoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
2 tablespoons lemon juice
4 tortilla wraps or flatbreads
Fresh vegetables (such as lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers)
Yogurt or tahini (optional for sauce)
Instructions
Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine olive oil, shawarma spice mix, minced garlic, salt, pepper, and lemon juice. Add the chicken and ensure it’s well coated. Cover and let it sit for at least 1 hour.
Cook the chicken: Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Add marinated chicken and cook for about 6-8 minutes per side until it reaches 165°F (75°C) and is slightly charred.
Slice the chicken: Remove from heat and let it rest for a few minutes. Slice thinly against the grain.
Warm the wraps: Warm tortilla wraps or flatbreads until soft and pliable.
Assemble the wraps: Lay sliced chicken on warm flatbreads, drizzle with sauce, and add fresh vegetables.
Roll and serve: Roll wraps tightly and serve with extra sauce on the side.
Notes
Marinate longer for best flavor. Use fresh ingredients for optimal taste.
