A timeless apple pie filled with sweet, tender apples and enveloped in a flaky crust, perfect for gatherings or cozy family dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 pie crusts (store-bought or homemade)
  • 6-8 medium apples, peeled and sliced
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon butter, cut into small pieces

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. Combine the peeled and sliced apples with sugar, flour, cinnamon, nutmeg, and lemon juice in a large bowl. Toss until evenly coated.
  3. Place one pie crust in a 9-inch pie pan and fill it with the apple mixture.
  4. Dot the filling with small pieces of butter.
  5. Cover with the second pie crust, seal the edges, and cut slits in the top for steam to escape.
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling.
  7. Cool for at least 30 minutes before serving.

Notes

Mixing sweet and tart apples enhances the flavor. Avoid overhandling the dough to keep it flaky.
